Dan Gastineau, practice leader for Visual Analytics at Aspirent, recently published “The Five Types of People that Use Visualization” in Nightingale, Medium’s online journal of the Data Visualization Society. In the article, Dan describes how visualizations succeed when they are tailored to the type of people who use them. Are they Doers, Analyzers, Deciders, Casual Learners, or Museum Goers? The article looks at each of these user groups to gain a better understanding of who they are and how visualization can help them.
